Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are designed to replace just one or a few missing teeth and to correct the gaps in your smile. It is a metal framework which anchor the dentures to your natural teeth. Partial dentures maintain tooth alignment by preventing your remaining teeth from shifting, they can also prevent further tooth loss due to decay or gum disease.

A partial denture may be tooth-supported or tooth-and tissue-supported. Dr. Jeff Weaver will explain the significant differences between theses two types of dentures during your consultation.

The consultation will also review the position, stability and number of remaining teeth as only a few of the factors that help to determine what style or type of partial denture would be best for you. Partials can be made of different materials, including acrylics, or metal/acrylic combination.

With newer partial denture designs, materials and techniques, partial dentures are becoming more comfortable than ever before. We are happy to show you the many designs available, some of which have no visible clasps and are virtually undetectable.

Are There Alternatives to Dentures?

Dental implants can eliminate the need for a dentures, they are fast becoming the alternative to dentures. A consultation with Dr. Jeff Weaver can determine if you are a candidate for implants. The cost is usually greater, but implants and bridges more closely resemble the feel of real teeth.
